A few reviews for the recent Website Optimization book
It’s funny. We worked with Andy King on two chapters of Website Optimization, and, until the book came out, we hadn’t seen the whole thing. I took it up north with me when I went on vacation, and I really got a lot out of the whole book. We’re sharing it with our clients, and using it to back up and further explain a few of the recommendations we make for them.
So, I wanted to check in and see what the buzz was on the book. Here are a few reviews:
It’s an amazingly practical manual, with page after page of ideas, suggestions, and strategies for getting your pages more widely known and read. On the whole, it’s not too technical, and he supplies snippets of code only when necessary. All the tips are within the grasp of anyone who is used to running a web site, and along the way he explains the principles of search engine optimization (SEO) as well as briefing you on how SEs treat your site. from Mantex books
The book is excellent…and from what I’ve seen, it is THE book on Website Optimization. Gone are the days of scouring the web for bits and pieces of info on how to optimize….this book contains it all. from Eric Brown
Website Optimization is a book that makes a business case for a company’s web presence and how best to use the web as a profit generating tool….King’s book reads a little like a marriage manual that blows past the honeymoon and talks about how to make a relationship last a lifetime. In other words, it’s not romantic, but it’s “real”. from Certforums
What I’m holding in my hands is an essential guide to taking a website and turning it into a sleek machine for marketing and information distribution. from Wicked Business Sciences
If you have a website that underperforms your expectations, this single book can be your one-stop shop to get all the knowledge you need. from Alexander Kirk
